Job Summary

A Laborer supports site operations by performing a variety of physical tasks to assist skilled trades, maintain clean and safe work environments, and help ensure timely project completion.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain a clean and orderly job site by supporting housekeeping duties and ensuring materials are organized.
  • As needed, assist with job start up by protecting floors, covering walls, moving fencing, etc.; remove protections at the end of a project.
  • Assist with punch list items, including small repairs or adjustments required for project completion.
  • Support carpentry duties, as needed.
  • Install and maintain temporary weather protection.
  • Look out for safety issues and ensure subcontractors are following proper procedures and site rules.
  • Participate in demolition activities as needed, following all safety protocols.
  • Check project tools and equipment to ensure they are operating safely and report any issues.
  • Assist with concrete-related tasks such as placement, finishing, or mixing.
  • Perform traffic control duties to manage vehicle and pedestrian flow around job sites.
  • Dig trenches and perform minor groundwork for utility installation or drainage.
  • Support stormwater operations and related environmental compliance activities.
  • Oversee temporary laborers supporting the project, as needed.
  • Assist Superintendents and Carpenters with general tasks and responsibilities as required.

Work Environment

This job operates in a construction work site environment with others. This role routinely works outside in varying weather conditions and uses personal protection equipment.

Expected Hours of Work/Travel

Ability to travel or accept full-time assignments to any location where Bryan Construction conducts business. Ability to travel to multiple locations or job sites daily or weekly as needed. Work may require occasional weekend and evening work.

Required Education and Experience

  • Experience operating hand tools (hammer drill, impact, grinder, skill saw)

Preferred Education and Experience

  • OSHA 30 completion or knowledge of construction safety practices
  • Previous construction experience
  • Experience reading construction drawings
  • Experience working with concrete
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Spanish bilingual
  • Experience using construction management software
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook
  • Valid driver’s license

**Drug Screening and Background Investigation required**

Salary Range: $23-$27/hour
